The RYSA Traveling Prep Academy is an "in-house" development program, directed toward U9 & U10 players looking to play competitive soccer (For the Fall 2017 this is for anyone born in 2009 or 2008). All the players in these age groups will meet at the same location for training and games. Genders will not be mixed for this program.
The program will take place three nights a week in the Fall September 4th-October 13th (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). Two nights each week will be training nights conducted by our paid coaching staff. The third night will be game night, where the players will be split randomly into teams. Coaches will help with substitutions and facilitate the game, while the players will be calling their own fouls, etc. There will not be a referee.
The Traveling Prep Academy will focus on three main areas;
1- Developing Players - focusing on age-appropriate player development activities in accordance with the United States Soccer Federation's "Best Practice" recommendations and their new player development curriculum.
2- Building a Soccer Community - establishing a fun training environment that encourages players to express themselves with the ball, develop a love for the game, as well as supportive relationships with other players.
3- Optimizing Soccer Time - maximizing the time working with the ball and minimizing time spent doing non-developmental tasks (e.g., driving to the Cities)
The Traveling Prep Academy aims to help players reach their highest level of soccer competency and creativity. This program will allow players to reach this goal through age-appropriate, focused training and encouragement of creativity on the ball in a supportive environment.
