The Rochester Youth Soccer Association is pleased to announce that Chris Belcher has joined the staff as its new Director of Player Development. Belcher has been subcontracted through Educational Sports Programs for an initial 18 months and will work directly with RYSA Coaching Director Neil Cassidy to continue to develop youth soccer players in the Rochester area.

Belcher has been working full-time in soccer for the past 13 years. He currently holds a United States Soccer Federation “A” coaching license and a UEFA “B” coaching license. He joins the RYSA staff after having served as a head coach at Bristol City Football Club’s youth “Center for Excellence” in Southwest England. He was also the head coach of the women’s soccer team at Bristol University.

Belcher is not new to the Rochester area, having helped the RYSA and other area soccer clubs with player development in the past. In his new position with the RYSA, Belcher’s duties will include coach education and player development.

“I’m very excited to be back in Rochester, working with a club of such high quality,” said Belcher. “We have a lot of talented players and wonderful coaches and I’m looking forward to working with them and helping them improve their skills.”
