Our Philosophy
RYSA’s Rec soccer program is designed to teach players soccer skills, teamwork and sportsmanship in an environment where participation and fun are the focus, not competition. The philosophy of the RYSA Recreational Soccer program is to ensure that all Rochester area youth have the opportunity to learn the game of soccer. The program provides a low-cost, safe and structured soccer experience for all area youth in grades 1-12 and can serve as a starting point before moving to more competitive programs.
Winter Rec Program
RYSA's 2013 Winter Rec Program is a six week recreational soccer program offered in partnership with Soccer World. The program takes place in January and February at the RCTC Dome and is offered for boys and girls in Kindergarten through 4th grade. Players will learn the game, make friends and have fun in an encouraging and positive environment.
Each session will run for 1 hour with training activities followed by 4 v 4 games. Boys and girls sessions for each grade will meet at the same time but will be split up by gender with boys on one half of the field and girls on the other.
Coaches will be provided to work with the players through the entire six week session. No coaching volunteers are needed.
For these sessions, each child should have the following:
- Shin guards and socks
- Soccer shoes or tennis shoes
- A size appropriate soccer ball (size 3 for grades K-2 and size 4 for grades 3-4)
- A water bottle
